Jimi Hendrix

James Marshall "JimiHendrix was an American rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter, inspired musically by American rock and roll and electrical blues. Although his mainstream career spanned only four years, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of popular music, and one of the most celebrated musicians of the 20th century.
Rolling Stone ranked the band's three studio albums, Are You ExperiencedAxis: Bold as Love, and Electric Lady land, among the 100 greatest albums of all time and they ranked Hendrix as the greatest guitarist and the sixth greatest artist of all time. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame describes him as "arguably the greatest instrumentalist in the history of rock music". Two of his songs namely "Hey Joe", "Purple Haze", and a rock ballad "The Wind Cries Mary" had earned three Uk top ten hits.

The list of artists who have been affected by the great Jimi Hendrix is pretty endless. Nearly every guitarist around the world has a favourite Hendrix story or moment.
John Mayer penned a beautiful essay about Hendrix in Rolling Stone‘s 2004 list of the 100 Greatest Artists;

 “When I listen to Hendrix, I just hear a man, and that’s when it’s most beautiful — when you remember that another human being was capable of what he achieved,” he wrote. “Who I am as a guitarist is defined by my failure to become Jimi Hendrix. However far you stop on your climb to be like him, that’s who you are.”

Born on November 27, 1942 Washington, US; Jimi Hendrix died on September 18, 1970, at the age of 27, due to asphyxia.
